Great teaching tool

I use this book for the last 5 minutes of every private lesson with my younger students so they can "sight read" rhythm. It allows me to isolate rhythm without involving the other skills in handling an instrument such as pitch and technique. It is also great for teaching more complicated rhythmic concepts (triplets, 3 in 2, etc) to older or more advanced students.
Rhythmic subdivision is approached on a gradual basis with plenty of practical application between each new concept. I have also found that the physical action of clapping is a stress reliever for younger students after having been so focused on the lesson.
I wore out the last book I had and looked all over for a replacement. I'm very happy to find this back in print.
